MES East’s $255.6m APEC energy announced

29 May '09
Electrical grid company MES East has announced a $147m, 220kV power line to be built on the Isle of Russky in Vladivostok in preparation for the upcoming APEC summit.

Construction will reportedly kick off in Q1 2010.

Broader energy supply plans for the summit are worth $255m and include, in addition to the power line, construction of two 220kV substations on the Isle of Russky and Patrokl Harbor in Vladivostok, the company reports. These other projects will reportedly be completed in late 2011.

Vladivostok’s Isle of Russky will host the Asian-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit to be held in 2012.

MES East is a subsidiary of federal grid company FSK UES.
