FSK UES and Khevel sign cooperation agreement

National grid operator FSK UES and Republic of Chuvashia-based firm Khevel have signed a cooperation agreement, Khevel reports.

Under the agreement, the parties are to carry out a number of projects to develop solar energy in the Russian Federation, including construction of solar energy generation facilities on the Russky Island in Vladivostok, Primorsky Krai, before the APEC Summit to be held in September 2012.

The agreement also regulates installation of photovoltaic systems at the FSK UES substations. The projects are to provide engineering and methodological support of solar energy facilities.

Under plans, Khevel is to supply photovoltaic thin-film modules, project, produce, install and operate photovoltaic generating systems at the Single National Electricity Grid, as well as provide maintenance and repairs services.

Khevel is a JV by Renova group of companies and state corporation RUSNANO.
